Configure Ethernet & IP

Configure Ethernet and Change IP

Use this guide to connect the OV80i camera to your computer or network and assign a valid IP address.

Direct Connection

  1. Connect camera's Ethernet to laptop using a standard CAT5e/6 cable.
  2. Power on camera (M12 or terminal).
  3. Set your computer's network adapter to same subnet:
    • Example: Camera IP = 10.250.0.100
    • Set PC to 10.250.0.xx, subnet 255.255.255.0
  4. Access camera UI via browser: http://10.250.0.100

Network Switch Setup

  1. Connect camera to managed or unmanaged switch.
  2. Ensure switch doesn't block unknown IPs.
  3. Use IP scanner tool (e.g., Zenmap) to detect camera IP.
  4. Access UI and follow same login steps.

Changing the IP Address

  1. Log in to the camera's web interface.
  2. Go to System Settings > Network Settings
  3. Enter new IP, Subnet, and Gateway.
  4. Save and reboot camera.

⚠️ Note: Changing the IP will drop your current session.

What's a Subnet?

  • Subnet defines devices that can talk without routing.
  • Usually 255.255.255.0 (i.e., only the last digit differs).
  • Both PC and camera must be on the same subnet for access.

Troubleshooting

  • No UI shows up? Confirm subnet and try pinging IP.
  • Switch blocks camera? Unplug/replug both ends to reset switch table.
  • Still not found? Connect via Micro-USB and browse to http://192.168.55.1 (emergency access regardless of Ethernet config).
